Short-term cash infusions for small retailers
Small merchants trying unsuccessfully to get short-term financing through conventional bank sources now have another option. Our Merchant Capital Division can now make a cash advance of up to $250,000 based on credit/debit card receivables. Usually an amount equal to the total of your credit/debit receivables can be advanced, repayments being made from future credit/debit card transactions. For more information:
Real Estate Update
Gloom and doom or bigger and better in Real Estate?
Depending on whose opinion you follow, we are either on the edge of a cataclysmic correction in real estate, or a continuation (albeit at a slower pace) of the market's growth. As a perennial optimist, and as a Mortgage Agent with a vested self-interest (!!) I am a firm believer in the latter. With continued low interest rates and the Bank of Canada not likely to make any precipitous upward moves any time soon, I think any correction in housing sales will be a minor one. An article in today's Toronto Star by Susan Pigg would seem to affirm this:
Mortgage Update
Scotia Ups the Ante on 10-year Mortgages
Canadian Mortgage trends, without doubt one of the best sources for mortgage information reported recently on ScotiaBank's 10 year mortgage offering:
"Despite record-low 10-year fixed rates, one could argue that the odds still favour shorter terms-at least for financially secure borrowers.
The historical advantage of shorter terms and the lower probability of dramatic rate increases are two common arguments against 10-year mortgages". For the complete story, go to:
